Welcome to Cape Ann Skeptics

We are a group of people interested in exploring the world with a skeptical point of view.

Our definition of skepticism is "rational, critical, and scientific thinking." We are not cynics nor contrarians. Rather, we are people who look at the world rationally.

Skeptics in the Pub on Cape Ann

Like Skeptics in the Pub meetings around the world, we gather as an opportunity for skeptics to meet one another and share ideas.

Meetings are generally scheduled for the third Tuesday of every month. There is no cost or registration.

On Tues, February 21st, Rich Sagall will present “Are Placebos Ethical?.” His discussion will include the history of placebos, theories as to why they work, and the arguments for and against their use. Although he doesn’t guarantee you will be able to decide if their use is ethical, he does guarantee a lively discussion. Everyone interested is welcome!

We meet in the function room of The Pilot House Restaurant, 3 Porter St., Gloucester.

6:00 Begin gathering to socialize and order food and drink
6:45 The program begins with short videos and miscellaneous fun

Everyone interested in skepticism is welcome!
